All these songs are such beautiful creations. I was honored to take a part of performing on Saint Paul. A great EP to start with.
Favorite track: Saint Paul.
Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, MI, Cam Navetta, now 28, began writing songs at 13. Through the years, he has drawn on an eclectic array of styles and artists, but has found a niche as a crooning acoustic songwriter.
Marking the first time Navetta has chosen to publish under his own name, his EP "Anabaptism" is a homecoming of sorts. While exploring such deeply personal themes such as alcoholism, mental health struggles, and religious questioning, Navetta also finds his voice as a composer and producer. He wrote and recorded nearly all of the parts that appear on the record in his bedroom studio. The album displays a cohesive vision which rebukes all pretense. At times, it is so candid that it borders on voyeuristic, a thread that even trickles down to the very sound of the instruments; he employs virtually no reverb or effects in these recordings.
After self-publishing his first album at 18, under the name "Jet Rodriguez," Navetta quickly drew attention from college radio stations and listeners from across the world. Although live performances have been sparse for the reclusive songwriter, he plans to bring "Anabaptism" to the live stage in the coming months.
